Mythical Maze, the 2014 Summer Reading Challenge, has been launched in the borough by author (and all-round good guy!) Josh Lacey. Josh met children from Sacred Heart Primary School and spoke about some of his brilliant books including The Dragonsitter, The Bearkeeper, The Island of Thieves and the ‘Grk‘ series. We also discovered that despite writing the awesome Dragonsitter series, Josh is actually really bad at spotting dragons in real life, even when there’s one standing right next to him!

The Dragonsitter was shortlisted for the 2012 Roald Dahl Funny Prize and A Dog Called Grk (Josh’s first  book for children) was shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award. Josh’s most recent title, The Sultan’s  Tigers, was the winner of the Calderdale Book Award 2013, and follows the adventures of Tom Trelawney  as he battles criminals and searches for a precious jewel-encrusted tiger. Phew, it makes us tired just  thinking about it. Thanks Josh and good luck to everyone taking part in this year’s Challenge!
